Over time, I’ve come to realize that the things that shape us are often the most valuable parts of our journey. People talk about what has influenced their lives, and I think it’s important to reflect on that too. As someone still navigating through life—learning, unlearning, and applying lessons daily—there are a few key things that have significantly shaped who I am today.
I’d love to share them with you. And maybe, this will inspire you to take a moment to reflect on the things that have shaped your own journey too.
1. Reading
Books have been my window into different worlds, ideas, and perspectives. Reading has expanded my mind, challenged my thinking, and helped me grow emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually. Whether it’s fiction or non-fiction, each book leaves something behind—a lesson, a question, or a spark of inspiration.
2. Writing
Writing has been my form of expression, healing, and reflection. It’s how I make sense of the world and my place in it. From journaling my thoughts to writing stories that mirror real-life struggles and triumphs, writing has taught me clarity, discipline, and courage. It’s not just what I do—it’s who I am.
3. Personal Development Classes
Taking personal development courses and attending workshops has been a game-changer. These classes have helped me become more self-aware, confident, and intentional about my goals. They’ve taught me practical tools for decision-making, communication, and emotional intelligence—skills that are essential for personal and professional growth.
4. God’s Word (My Faith)
My faith is the anchor of my life. Studying God’s word has shaped my values, decisions, and how I see the world. In moments of confusion, it brings clarity. In times of fear, it brings peace. My relationship with God continues to guide me, strengthen me, and remind me of my purpose.
