There was a time in my life when I struggled to achieve much—especially in my writing journey. I would plan out my day with high hopes, only to end up accomplishing little or nothing. The frustration of feeling unfulfilled became a daily battle.

At some point, I even thought it was a curse. I prayed about it, hoping for a breakthrough. But everything changed when I attended a webinar that opened my eyes to the real problem—it wasn’t spiritual; it was a lack of structure and discipline.

After implementing the strategies I learned, I started seeing a massive shift in my productivity. Now, I achieve my daily goals with ease, and procrastination no longer has a hold on me.

Today, I want to share the five steps that help me stay on track and crush my daily goals without excuses.

We all know that procrastination kills growth, and if you truly want to thrive and achieve success, you must eliminate it from your life.

So, what are the steps I take to achieve my daily goals?

1. I remind myself that what needs to be done, should be done now.

I have learned to eliminate the “I’ll do it later” mindset because later often turns into never. The moment I realize I’m postponing a task, I remind myself that delays only add unnecessary pressure.

2. I break my goals into small, manageable tasksPost Image

Instead of overwhelming myself with a long to-do list, I divide my goals into bite-sized tasks. This makes each goal feel more achievable, and I focus on completing one task before moving on to the next.

3. I identify the resources and strategies needed to accomplish my goals

Before jumping into action, I take a moment to ask myself:

What do I need to complete this task?

Do I need any tools, research, or external support?

What’s the most efficient way to get it done?

Having clarity before starting helps me work smarter and avoid unnecessary roadblocks.

4. I take action—one step at a time.

Once my plan is in place, I execute it. I take each task one at a time, giving it my full attention. However, I also make sure to take short breaks when needed—because burnout can be just as damaging as procrastination.

5. I reward myself for completing all my tasks.

Motivation is key! To keep myself disciplined, I attach a reward to my completed tasks. Whether it’s a bottle of cold Coke, watching a movie, or indulging in a favorite snack, having something to look forward to gives me the push I need to complete my goals.
