Siminalayi Fubara, the suspended Rivers State Governor has made his first appearance just after 5 days of being suspended by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who declared a state of emergency in Rivers State and evicted him from the office of Governor.

He was seen at Port Harcourt, where he attended a special prayer, worship and thanksgiving service at the Salvation Ministries Headquarters in Government Reservation Area. His appearance also dispelled the rumours of him relocating to another South-South state amidst the political crisis.


In the church, Fubara showed his gratitude to God for his mercies, love and undesirable support amid the ongoing political challenge in Rivers State. He was accompanied by some Rivers State top politicians, elders and stakeholders.

Nelson Chukwudi, his press secretary in a statement while listing the notable figures that were present at the service mentioned; Dr. Edison Ehie (Chief of Staff), Senator John Azuta Mbata (Former Senate President Pro-Tempore & President-General, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide), Dr. Sam Sam Jaja (Former Deputy National Chairman, PDP), Chief Orits Onyiri, Chief Mike Elechi, Chief David Briggs, Dr. Tamunosisi Gogo-Jaja, Amaopusenibo Fubara Hart, Chief Theodore Georgewill, Hon. Kingston Sylvanus, Hon. Ezebunwo Ichemati (Former Mayor of Port Harcourt), Hon. Israel Abosi (Former Ikwerre Local Government Chairman) and Chief David Omereji (Former Emohua Local Government Chairman).


Pastor David Ibiyeomie led the thanksgiving service titled "Living a blessed Life" which was a very deep spiritual session. The congregation also engaged in a soul-lifting songs, scriptural exhortations, and prayers for peace, progress, and prosperity in Rivers State.


After the service, the church held a special prayer session for Fubara reinforcing his faith in divine justice amidst the political crisis.
