Governor Abdullahi Sule has denounced the rumours which states that some certain politicians has been anointed as his chosen candidate which would succeed him in 2027.

While expressing over this concern, Sule pleaded with the public and his supporters to disregard such claims, while expressing that the rumours are being spread by some disgruntled politicians who wishes to use his name for political advantages.

Comrade Peter Ahemba, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Public Affairs, stated this during a bi-monthly press briefing which was held on Wednesday at the Press Centre in Lafia.

Ahemba stated that the politicians made the claims in order to deceive, distract and mislead the public.

“We want to make it categorically clear that Governor Abdullahi Sule has not anointed any candidate to succeed him in 2027. Any appointee supporting such a claim is displaying insubordination, and the governor will not tolerate such acts henceforth,” he stated.

He also urged the public to ignore any politician claiming to have been chosen by the government as the 2027 governorship candidate.

“At the appropriate time, the people of Nasarawa will decide who they want as governor in 2027. Governor Sule still has more than two years to deliver the dividends of democracy to his people—why the distraction?” he questioned.

The Governor also reaffirmed to his supporters that he remains committed to good governance and will not be swayed by detractors. He also admonished the people to continue to abide with law and expect more development in his remaining years.
