On Wednesday, 26th of March 2025, FIFA announced that the winner of this year's expanded Cup in United States will receive up to $125 million as the prize money.

According to FIFA, a total fund of $1 billion for the event has already been made, which would cover the event from June 14th to July 13th. FIFA also broke down the sum of the 32 participating teams.

For participating, $525 million will be shared among the teams, while a further $475 million will be distributed in accordance to performances during the tournament.

With extra bonuses, the winning team from all the seven matches that would be played, could receive the sum of $125 million.

The lion's share of the prize money will be given to Europe, with each of their clubs receiving between $12.81 and $38.19 million. The extra amount would be given with regards to sporting and commercial criteria.


The South American teams will each receive $15.21 million as participation bonuses, while the North and Central America; the Caribbean, Asia and Africa will receive $9.55 million.

The Oceania representative, Auckland City, will take home $3.58 million for being a participant.



“The distribution model… represents the biggest prize money ever awarded to a competition comprising a group stage and a knockout phase,” said FIFA President, Gianni Infantino in a press release.

“In addition to the prize money earmarked for the participating clubs, an unprecedented solidarity programme will be put in place with the aim of redistributing an additional $250 million to football around the world.”

He also stated that all proceeds from the event will be redistributed to club football.
